Stress is a multidimensional and a complex phenomenon, which is influenced by personal and situational factors. Specifically, stress in teaching is a multi level phenomenon that results in unpleasant negative emotions such as anger, frustration, depression, etc. Attitude is a generalized feeling or evaluative reaction to a particular object or profession, determined through psychological or socio-cultural factors. The present study is conducted to assess the level of stress and attitude of women teachers working with normal and special children. This study reveals that the stress of women teachers as a whole is of moderate level, but those of teachers who are handling mentally challenged children is found to be relatively high compared with that of teachers handling normal children. The attitude level of the teachers is found to be moderate and there again the teachers working with mentally challenged are reporting relatively low level of attitude towards their profession.
