The purpose of this book “Classical mechanics” is to give an introductory account of the basic principles of Lagrangian formulation and hamiltonian formulation of mechanics. It is meant to serve as a textbook for the B.Sc., Physics students of Indian Universities. Care has been taken to dealing with the subject with modern outlook. A large number of questions and problems have been given at the end of each chapter. A better way to understand the various aspect of classical mechanics is to solve many problems. Keeping this in view many solved and unsolved problems have been included in this book.
