This book is designed to provide up to date texts for all interested students and teachers of all levels as well as general public who have interest in flora of India. The emphasis of the text is on the whole plant species of India. The rapid pace at which biological knowledge has grown in the last few decades have now necessitated a very thorough writing of large sections of the book and the task has been quite challenging in the face of an accumulation of facts that on occasions has seemed quite overwhelming.
